Know Small Parts by Laura Cayouette- Book Review

Know Small Parts- book by Laura Cayouette

Every time I start to feel a little down about my career, I pick up Laura Cayouette’s book, Know Small Parts. It’s so encouraging to working actors about the ebbs and flows of your career and things you should know about auditioning and how to build a character, and what it’s like to have small parts in big movies. I have a film acting school here in Baton Rouge called Love Acting and I recommend that all actors that are looking to build a career read this book for tips about how to tackle not only acting and auditions, but also the business side of their career.

We are lucky to have Laura Cayouette living in Louisiana, and I have had her come speak at Love Acting before, and I feel like I should have her come again because she brings such encouragement and wisdom to actors no matter where they are in their career. She’s so humble and informative in her lectures and talks about her fun experiences she’s had with established filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino, Richard Dreyfuss, and other great people in the industry.

Laura also has a blog that you can subscribe to for a small fee for the year. Here is the link if you are interested where you can subscribe to the newsletters that provide information for actors about all kinds of important tips. You can also access this page directly for acting tips.

You can purchase her book on Amazon here.
