Every Brilliant Thing- Play at Saint Margaret's Episcopal Church, Baton Rouge
When producer Paige Gagliano asked me to be a direct Everything Brilliant Thing with the amazing actor Richard Beugh, I was honored. Every Brilliant Thing is about a little boy who makes a list of all the brilliant things in the world for his mother who is struggling with depression. It’s the funniest play about depression that you will ever see. You leave the play feeling full of hope and encouraged. It’s such a heart warming experience. This theatrical experience will be one of the most unique plays that you’ll ever go to. The audience becomes a community for the actor, and each audience member gets immersed in the show.
Paige has always wanted to bring this show to Baton Rouge, and it feels like there couldn’t be a better time than now to do this play. When I was on WAFB this morning with PLPC counselor, Georgia Small, she told the audience that statistics show that one in every five American struggles with mental health issues. We would like to make sure that everyone sees this play, and therefore we can start a discussion about mental health and how important it is to be addressing hard topics.
Our first production of Every Brilliant Thing will be on May 9th and 10th at Saint Margaret’s Episcopal church in Baton Rouge at 7:00pm. And we hope to bring it to high schools and colleges and workplaces in the future. You can get tickets at this link.
