Passion and Producing Film

I love producing films. I love bringing something from nothing. I like starting with an idea and developing it into an actual physical product that you can watch or see. So lately I've been getting a lot of scripts sent to me where people want me to look over their projects and see if I feel moved by them and could possibly produce them. I’m pretty particular about what I spend my energy and time on because I always know it’s going to take a little longer than I have anticipated to work on any projects in film. Ultimately I’m driven by the passion. If someone is persistent and driven by their own passion for their project it makes me want to read about what they want to make. I personally know that it takes a certain amount of zeal to finish a project.

I love being a Louisiana film producer and I hope to do it for many years to come and leave great films to Louisiana. Films and TV shows that make an impact, talk about history, and are inspirational to mankind. Filmmaking is something that I found at 34 years old, and I feel like I'm still just getting started after having made 15 short films and been a part of many feature films. Aaron and I just finished shooting a proof of concept that we made with Brandon Marshall, a passionate filmmaker, and it was a period drama set in 1910 called Mizpah. The story is so strong that it drew me right in and made me want to get involved. I can’t wait to see what happens. The project was directed by Brandon Marshall and it was fun to work with a lot of great Louisiana talent on the project. It was so fun shooting in Natchez, Mississippi in an old antebellum home and an old county jail. I love that Brandon was led my way through a good friend to make this period drama. I hope that my life is spent making sweeping, epic period dramas forever. It is so fun.
